Our 7-Step Water Damage Restoration Process for Evanston, IL Residents

1. Water Damage Inspectionbasement flood clean up evanston

First, we inspect water-damaged interiors and contents in your Evanston property and assess exactly what needs to be done. Our teams check the structural stability of walls, floors and ceilings. We also determine what contents can and can’t be salvaged.

2. Cleanup Action Plan

Based on our examination, we put together a plan of action. This outline covers the specific procedures we follow to keep your job on track and on schedule.

We’re happy to answer questions and address any concerns you might have about our process.

3. Extraction and Mitigation

Using the latest truck-mounted extraction systems, we quickly remove standing water. Our technicians follow up with industrial-strength vacuums that take care of residual water.

We also identify and mitigate secondary water damages, such as structural problems and mold outbreaks.

4. Tear-Out and Debris Removal

During the mitigation process, we tear out materials that can’t be salvaged. For example, our teams pull up soaked carpeting, pull out ruined drywall and take down damaged ceiling materials.

As we work, we clean up, haul off and dispose of all debris, following the City of Chicago’s demolition regulations.

5. Highly Effective Structural Drying

Water damage quickly seeps into wall framing, subflooring, joists and support beams. We stop the spread of moisture through wood structures with heavy-duty drying equipment that runs 24/7.

This step is accomplished with desiccant dehumidifiers, axial fans, centrifugal air movers and floor drying systems.

6. Property-Wide Remediation

Water damage remediation is a type of deep cleaning applied to interior surfaces. Our teams scrub, sanitize and deodorize all areas. We also take care of any final structural issues, and we address fungal growth with industry-certified mold removal techniques.

7. Final Water Damage Restoration

With this last step, we rebuild torn-out drywall, floors and ceilings. Door frames, window casings, baseboards and trim are replaced as needed. All water-damaged materials and salvageable contents in your home or business are restored to their pre-loss condition.

Finally, we ask you to take a close look at the affected areas and inspect our restoration work. We don’t consider the job finished until you’re completely satisfied with every detail.

WHAT CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING

This is the second time I've used ServiceMaster. I needed the walls and ceiling in my kitchen to be removed due to a water leak from the unit above me. They were super cautious of my furniture and covered everything with plastic. I hired them to do my reconstruction as well and am extremely happy with my new cabinets!

While we were out of town our vanity mirror fell and turned on our sink faucet. Water was running for days, we're not sure when it happened, the fire department was alerted when the house sensors got wet and set off the alarms. our neighbor came over when she saw the fire department. We were called immediately. Our agent highly recommended neil at service master. He came out with a huge team and a general manager. I felt very comfortable with him and all office staff to get the job done while we were still out of town. My neighbor checked in on them until we returned. 80% of my entire house was gutted. I have a lot of custom wall paneling, crown molding and trim. They were able to save it all. They also did my packout and duct work cleaning. Everyone at service master was extremely knowledgeable and professionaland very helpful.
