Community Commitment
Here at ServiceMaster Restoration by Zaba, we’re proud of our deep roots in the Chicago community.
We’re a family-owned business, and all our employees make their homes right here. Many of us were born and raised in Chicagoland.
We believe it’s important to volunteer our time and share our resources.
Together, we can all help our local community thrive and grow. We’re honored to call Chicago home.
We’re Proud Sponsors of Local Organizations, Initiatives and Events
Over the years, we’ve enjoyed being involved in local efforts that make our city a better place to live and work.
Part of our outreach includes providing ongoing education focused on disaster preparedness and safety.
Most recently, we’ve worked with these great organizations.
This volunteer-run global program builds school libraries, trains teachers, and funds lunch programs. Givology connects students worldwide with grassroots educational opportunities. ServiceMaster by Zaba sponsors a young girl's education in India through Givology Chicago's efforts.
We sponsored the Safety Alliance’s 2019 Family Day. The special occasion is dedicated to burn survivors and celebrates their courage with a family day full of fun and food. This year, attendees enjoyed a Peoria Chiefs baseball game, all-you-can-eat buffet and a fireworks show.
The 2019 Red Cross Classic was a real hit this June. While the main action takes place on the golf course, the annual event also featured a silent auction which we were very proud to sponsor. This year’s Classic raised more than $250,000 for Red Cross of Chicago.
This non-profit provides young girls from under-resourced communities with opportunities to realize their full potential. Our co-founder, Diana Rodriguez-Zaba, is an active board member as well as a dedicated mentor. She is very fortunate to be able to share her experiences with young girls who want to open their own businesses some day.
Overcoming hunger is an important battle we all can fight. Niles Food Pantry helps make it possible through their ongoing efforts, and they really appreciate support from surrounding neighborhoods. We regularly do all we can to keep the shelves stocked and the doors open.
For more than 20 years, the Miracle Center has given our area’s youth a performance platform that blends academics and creativity. The Center’s work makes a positive difference with an outreach that touches young people across the city. We’re very proud to sponsor this year-round after-school program.
The best way to beautify a village is to take care of it block by block. That’s the idea behind Skokie’s Adopt a Block initiative, and we’re happy to do our part. All of us here pitch in on a regular basis to keep Howard Street looking its best. Diana sums it up. “We’re really grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community.”

FAQs
What happens during your first visit?
Our crews arrive 24/7 often within a 60-90 minute timeframe, assess the situation, stop ongoing damage, and begin stabilization. This may include water extraction, board-up, or setting up drying equipment.
Do I need to call my insurance company before you arrive?
No. We can start work right away and help you notify your insurer with proper documentation and estimates once the property is secure.
Can I stay in my home or business during restoration?
It depends on the type and extent of damage. For minor water or fire damage jobs, you may be able to remain onsite. For larger projects, we’ll advise if temporary relocation is safer.
How do you handle belongings like furniture and electronics?
We inventory and pack out items when needed, clean salvageable belongings with specialized equipment in our cleaning lab, and store them in our temperature-controlled facility securely until restoration is complete
What makes ServiceMaster by Zaba different from other restoration companies in Chicago?
We’re family-run, WBENC-certified, and locally based with three offices.
Since 2008, our IICRC-certified team has restored homes, schools, restaurants, and medical facilities across Chicago, Lake County, and the North Shore.
What sets us apart is our highly personalized service: every client works directly with a project manager, and all work is handled under one roof from mitigation, packouts, and repairs.
As a true full-service company, our owners personally oversee every project, ensuring a smoother, more streamlined process with a human touch.
Can you handle large commercial losses?
Yes. Our team is equipped with industrial drying systems, air movers, and generators, allowing us to stabilize and restore warehouses, labs, and multi-floor buildings quickly and safely.
